Pre-requisite: C or higher in ENGL 1102 A chronological study of American literature from the Civil War to the present, this course presents a broad overview of American literature from the mid-nineteenth century to the present. Students will utilize various critical approaches and reading strategies as they examine important authors and themes of this period. The course will pay attention to literary movements, regional writing, native and immigrant cultures, and multiple perspectives.
