Prerequisites: CRJU 1100 An examination of the motives and actions of terrorists, the governmental response to terrorism, especially in the wake of 9/11, and the legal and constitutional restraints on the government. Included will be issues such as surveillance of American citizens, detention of suspected terrorists, enemy combatants, limits on the methods of interrogation, and use of military tribunals.
