MENG 3233 A — Heat Transfer
CRN 50405
3.0 credit hours
The basic principles and equations of heat transfer are presented. Steady and transient conduction, forced and natural convection, thermal radiation, and simultaneous heat transfer mechanisms are examined. Physical arguments are emphasized to develop an intuitive understanding of heat transfer mechanisms. Real-world engineering applications are presented and analyzed. Topics include steady and transient heat conduction, external and internal forced convection, natural convection, boiling and condensation, heat exchangers, and thermal radiation heat transfer. Prerequisite(s): A minimum grade of "C" in ENGR 3431, ENGR 3235.
