MENG 4214 A — Advanced Mechanics Laboratory

Principles and phenomena from engineering mechanics, strength of materials, mechanism design, and machine design are reinforced through student-conducted experiments. Physical experiments will be supplemented with the multibody dynamics and motion analysis software, Adams. Topics include biomechanics, bending and deflection of straight and curved beams, gear drives and gear trains, belt drives, and the selection and design of components in a mechanical system. Prerequisite(s): A grade of "C" or better in MENG 3130 and MENG 3135.
