This course is designed to explore the importance of cultural competence as a tool for reducing health disparities and promoting health equity. Cultural competence processes are critical for meeting public health needs in an increasingly diverse society. Emphasis will be placed on application of culturally-competent approaches in the planning and implementation of health promotion programs.
