This course provides the student with a foundation of community nursing roles and essential skills for entry to level public health nursing with a focus on population health and wellness. Knowledge and value of human diversity are held as essential concepts as students apply the nursing process with individuals, families, aggregates, and communities. Theories and concepts from public health and nursing science are applied to risk reduction, disease prevention, and health promotion. The impact of political systems and regulatory agencies on health disparities are examined at the global, national, regional and local levels. Prerequisite(s): A minimum grade of "C" NURS 4201 and NURS 4202 and NURS 4203 and NURS 4204 and NURS 4207 and NURS 4208 and NURS 4209.
