This course surveys aspects of a range of addictions and educates students about the process of addictions, including the skills and strategies needed to provide addictions counseling. The roles that counselors and other professionals serve in the prevention, treatment, and recovery process, along with information on available community resources, are addressed. Prerequisite(s): Permission from the instructor is required for students not accepted into the COUN program.
