Advanced Surveying

Principles of field astronomy, GPS surveys, control surveys, State Plane Coordinate Systems, photogrammetry, volume determination, route surveying (horizontal and vertical curvature) and an introduction to Geographical Information Systems. Laboratory includes: GPS for control, coordinate system transformations, survey boundary development, topography survey, and roadway alignment. Prerequisite(s): A minimum grade of "C" in CENG 2231 or TCM 2233 or permission of instructor. Cross Listing(s): CENG 5431G.
