This course provides a study of young adolescent development and middle level philosophy and school organization, curriculum, and professional roles. There is emphasis on the relationships among student development, school organization, instruction, and assessment to support successful teaching and learning for diverse learners. The course includes participation in learning teams, research on middle level philosophy and practices, and development of portfolio evidence of successful analysis and application of course concepts.
