This course combines health-related content knowledge with weekly participation in fitness or sport based physical activity. The health-related topics may include; behavioral change, personal safety, components of fitness, nutrition and weight management, prevention of chronic disease, mental health and stress management, substance use and abuse, and sexual health. The combined course content promotes a healthy lifestyle while teaching lifelong physical activities.

Access to KINS 1525: The Concepts of HPE requires ALL students to click on DAY1 KINS 1525 ACCESS (Required Course Materials) in the "Course Orientation - Start Here Module" to gain access to the course content. The cost of the material is attached to your student bill. You do not need to look anywhere else. You can opt out of the delivery of the material before the drop/add date, but the material is required to successfully complete the course. The Physical Activity Lifestyle (PAL) Program utilizes all customized materials for this course. This enables students to view all necessary course content (i.e. content learning modules, practice quizzes, journals, assignments/activities and any other materials pertaining to the course) on CSePub.com's learning management system and GS’s learning management system (FOLIO). In addition to gaining access to the course content, ALL KINS fitness walking students are required to purchase or have personal access to a fitness tracking device. The fitness tracking devices will be used to sync weekly step totals as part of the student's final grade. *
