Examines emerging social media forms, centered around contemporary public relations principles and practice, as it relates to the history, ethics, and practice of public relations. Students will become familiar with basic social media analytics, and will be able to implement social media plans as part of strategic communication campaigns. Topics to be covered include, but are not limited to: the development of social media, analytics, social media news releases, elements of a social media campaign, and other emerging web technologies. Prerequisite(s): A minimum grade of "C" in any of the following: PRCA 3330, MMJ 3100, or MMFP 2335.
