Access to KINS 1525: The Concepts of HPE requires ALL students to click on DAY1 KINS 1525 ACCESS (Required Course Materials) in the "Course Orientation - Start Here Module" to gain access to the course content. The cost of the material is attached to your student bill. You do not need to look anywhere else. You can opt out of the delivery of the material before the drop/add date, but the material is required to successfully complete the course. The Physical Activity Lifestyle (PAL) Program utilizes all customized materials for this course. This enables students to view all necessary course content (i.e. content learning modules, practice quizzes, journals, assignments/activities and any other materials pertaining to the course) on CSePub.com's learning management system and GS’s learning management system (FOLIO). This course will also require written assessments leading to STI certification, as well as, additional costs for various scuba packages. There is a $130 additional instructor/facility fee required for this course. Fees are non-refundable after the drop/add date of May 15th. Some additional gear required for participation in the diving portion of the course include; Snorkel, mask, fins, and booties. * These items may be purchased through the Southern Dive Center. * Please NOTE: There are additional costs for ALL weekend dive trips.

The course will introduce students to basic tools of engineering economy such as; interest rates, cash flow analysis, cost benefit analysis, and depreciation analysis that are used in comparing and evaluating multiple engineering projects on the basis of quantitative monetary parameters. The basic principles and equations of fluid mechanics are presented. The properties of fluids and the effects of fluids at rest and in motion are examined. The physics are emphasized to develop an intuitive understanding of fluid mechanics. Real-world engineering applications are presented and analyzed.
